In this webinar, participants will receive an update on recent and important biotech and life sciences topics. The discussion will provide information on various legal and scientific issues of interest to EPAs working in this area. Current matters will be covered, including the patenting of plants, the EU SPC proposal, sequence listings (implementation, law, and practical issues), patenting of antibodies, the EU NGT suggested legislation, the WIPO Treaty on Genetic Resources and Traditional Knowledge, as well as recent EPO case law.

The experienced speaker Simon Wright will guide you through the webinar, supported by Brigitte Carion-Taravella. The two of them currently serve as Chair and Secretary of epi's Committee of Biotechnological Inventions.

The webinar will be recorded and then only made available on our epi-learning platform to participants who have registered for the webinar.

Technical requirements
In order to attend the on-line course participants need a computer with an internet browser and a high-speed broadband internet connection. For the webinar, epi uses Zoom. Security settings on local Firewalls need to be checked. In order to make full use of the webinar session, we recommend to use headsets.

To access to the webinar epi sends out a link and the guidelines for participants shortly before the webinar.
