Description

This webinar is for epi members & epi students only!

In this webinar, the Patentee, the Opponent and a former Board of Appeal member discuss a case where the sole appeal was withdrawn at the start of the oral proceedings, leaving the patent maintained but plenty to talk about.

Chaired by Chris Mercer, the panel discusses how the appeal might have unfolded, with Michael Fleuchaus (Patentee) and Jim Boff (Opponent) presenting their arguments and Howard Read (a retired EPO Board of Appeal member) asking probing questions. The discussion focuses how G1/24 might have been used in added subject matter and inventive step attacks and defences.

A rare opportunity to gain practical insight into how parties prepare for using developing case law in appeal proceedings.
