INFORMATION BARRIERS AND PATENTS: A PRACTICE-BASED GUIDE

The question of how to handle information in firms and IP departments when there is potential for conflicts between clients is one that arises frequently. It often is difficult to establish practices that provide adequate service to clients while avoiding the sharing of information that might be subject to client confidentiality and/or legal privilege.

In this webinar Tim Powell (GB, Member of the epi Professional Conduct Committee) supported by Julia Gwilt (GB, Chair of the epi PEC) will explain some case law and regulatory bases for suggested organisational and information barrier arrangements, and will give a practical guide to avoiding some of the problems that can arise.

Technical requirements
In order to attend the on-line course participants need a computer with an internet browser and a high-speed broadband internet connection. For the webinar, epi uses Cisco WebEX, so initially some WebEX software will be installed on your computer. Security settings on local Firewalls need to be checked. In order to make full use of the webinar session, we recommend to use headsets.

To access to the webinar epi sends out a link and the guidelines for participants shortly before the webinar.
