Description

This webinar is for epi members & epi students only!

This is the second part of a webinar series on US law. It will discuss key substantive features of the US and highlight differences between the practice before the USPTO and the EPO. The webinar will cover the US approach to claim interpretation and obviousness, in particular the Examiner’s ability to combine multiple documents. There will also be a discussion of the strategies for responding to a final office action.

Our presenter, Tim McAnulty, is a partner at Finnegan. Tim represents clients across various technologies with particular expertise in medical devices. Tim was a mechanical engineer and co-leads the firm’s manufacturing industry group. He practises all aspects of patent law with a particular focus on contentious proceedings before the USPTO. Before joining Finnegan, Tim worked for several years as a patent examiner at the USPTO reviewing applications related to automotive, robotic, bicycle, and machine component technologies.
