This webinar will explore the European Patent Office’s approach to lack of unity in both European & PCT procedures. We will discuss the most recent updates in EPO case law & Guidelines, illustrated with practical cases. Additionally, we will share strategic tips to help professional representatives navigate lack of unity issues—or better yet, prevent them at an early stage.
Catherine Kourgias is a European & Belgian patent attorney, as well as European patent litigator. She gained experience both in an international IP law firm and in Industry. Her practice focuses on oppositions and appeals before the EPO, along with all IP-related tasks, including drafting & prosecution. She is primarily active in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Medical Devices, Pharmacy, Batteries, Renewable Energy & Recycling. A longtime flying CEIPI tutor, Catherine is also a member of the Approval Committee for Belgian Professional Representatives and serves as a Jury Member.

In order to attend the on-line course participants need a computer with an internet browser and a high-speed broadband internet connection. For the webinar, epi uses Zoom. Security settings on local Firewalls need to be checked. In order to make full use of the webinar session, we recommend to use headsets.
