Description

The webinar provides knowledge on strategies that (1) enable you to maintain trade secret rights while also preserving important patent rights and to push out costs as well as (2) how to embed several product designs into a regular patent application (US or European) and so pull these rights out in the US when you need them while pushing out their enforceable life. John Moetteli, a US patent attorney-at-law active since 1992, refers in his presentation to the former strategy as the “US submarine strategy” and to the latter as the “UFO design strategy”. John’s presentation has been well-received by top IP firms in Europe and China. The webinar is moderated by Bart van Wezenbeek.

Since 1995, John Moetteli, manager of Da Vinci Partners LLC in Switzerland, has been a practicing US patent attorney, licensed in Washington, D.C., as well as before the US Supreme Court. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center, as well as a master's in business and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas System, with honors. While an engineer, he worked in the R&D department for Heidelberg-Harris and for NASA at Johnson Space Center, where his work was featured on the Discovery Channel’s Invention Series sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute.
