Elections
1.Committee Election - Committees Election Committee
At the autumn Council meeting in the year preceding each election year, which will be the 100th Council meeting, the Council shall elect a Committees' Election Committee consisting of three members of the Institute who shall not stand for election to another Committee, at least one of whom should, if possible, be a previous member of the Committees' Election Committee. If this is not possible, the Committees' Election Committee may bring in as an advisor a former Committees' Election Committee member or Electoral Committee member.
2.Committee Election - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
The new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee will start its work once the members have been elected at the autumn Council meeting 2025, which will be the 100th Council meeting, with a term that will end at the autumn Council meeting 2026.
3.By-Elections
At the 100th Council meeting, there will be by-elections to fill vacancies in the following Committees:
Biotechnology Committee (Biotech)
European Patent Practice Committee (EPPC)
Litigation Committee (LitCom)
Professional Conduct Committee (PCC)
Professional Education Committee (PEC)
Any epi member can declare willingness to be a candidate for the (by)election to a Committee by submitting the completed nomination form.
4.Election to Council
Being a Council member means formally representing and championing the interests of the members of your constituency as well as bringing your passions and interests to the fore. You can actively shape the work and services of the Institute, elect the Board of epi, and can yourself become one of its members. It also allows you to be part of the body that is leading the epi task forces that address issues relevant to the Profession and your own constituency. The responsibilities of a Council member are described in the By-Laws, and include attending the Council meetings, one in Spring and one in Autumn.
