Election To Council 2026

At the beginning of next year, the Council of the Institute is due to be elected for its new term.

If you wish to stand for election or re-election to Council, please fill in the nomination form on this website. The deadline for submitting nominations is 3 November 2025 at the latest. Nominations are reviewed and then published in the list of candidates.

The usual case is that you stand for election in your own constituency, corresponding to your address registered at the EPO. Your constituency is the State party to the EPC in which you have your place of business or employment.

Overview of deadlines

- by 1 October 2025 at the latest:
Mailing of the nomination letter to all members of the Institute.

- 3 November 2025 (deadline for nominations):
Deadline for completing the nomination form online or for receiving the completed nomination form at the Secretariat of the Institute is 3 November 2025.

- by 1 December 2025 at the latest:
Publication of the lists of candidates validly nominated on the website of the Institute. Candidates invalidly nominated shall be informed individually. Reopening of the nomination procedure in constituencies and groups for which fewer candidates than the number of electable representatives and substitutes have been validly nominated.
The number of seats per country may change as the number of representatives to be elected in each constituency depends on the number of epi members in the constituency on the last working day in November.

- 10 December 2025 (deadline for additional nominations and for corrections to nominations):
Deadline for receiving requests in writing for corrections of the provisional lists of candidates at the Secretariat of the Institute.

- by 15 January 2026 at the latest:
Mailing of the ballot papers and and/or corresponding documents to the electors from the epi Secretariat or an independent election provider.

- 16 February 2026 (deadline for casting votes):
Deadline for remote e-voting or for receiving the completed ballot paper together with the completed and signed declaration form at the Secretariat of the Institute.

- by 16 March 2026 at the latest:
Publication of the results of the election on the website of the Institute and subsequently in epi Information 1/2026.
